  • Thanks for listening
I’ve downloaded a few from you in the past

what’s your favourite song that you already know on here?

any new one you didn’t know you really like?

  • A very impressive listing: PJ, Marianne, Vashti, Mag Fields … AND Noel Coward! fab-oo.

Ever hear any Elliott Smith? Tim Buckley? Nick Drake? I guess they’re all more “old school” type “emo” (if I’m understanding the word emo properly–by no means certain), although Elliott was with us till ’03.

    • of course!
but I never really fell in love with Nick…
only his upbeat meloncoly songs really ever caught me
      I love Pink Moon…

and I’ve been listening to Elliot since ’98
almost put the Untitled about ” can’t you ever treat anyone nice?/ think I’m gonna make the same mistake twice… ”
      but didn’t
      he…
      well, yeah

      and I like tim
      but didn’t consider him
though I’ve got “so real” from jeff in the emobin for J’s cd

what’s your favourtite song on here yo know already?
and any one you didn’t know you really like?

      • My knowledge/experience of music is pretty limited, compared to most people’s… I don’t own an iPod and listen in two ways, mostly:

        (1) I put on some lounge music, or harp music, or Dusty or Jackie Trent or similar when I’m cooking on the weekends, on our very funky stereo which I desperately need to replace;

        (2) I listen on my portable CD player at bedtime. Recent listening has included Stalham River by E. J. Moeran (1920s, Anglo-Irish piano music), and a live set that Tim Buckley did in London in ’68 at the BBC. I tend to just listen to the same music over and over again for quite some time–last month I was addicted to the Days of Future Past album by the Moody Blues for a few weeks.

Maybe I can play some of your tracks on this computer. I actually have never heard most of them. Thanks for offering them! Maybe you’ll introduce me to a new addiction…

  • mariann faithful

you’re an appreciator of mariann (Hey Kariann)? I’ve been since the 60s.

    • Re: mariann faithful

      yeah… Marianne is pretty amazing
and Before the Poison was a really cool project
PJ Harvey, Damon Albarn and… thom yorke? neil hannon? jarvis cocker?
I love interesting collaborations like that

      … also
that ” Hey Kari Ann” song is what gave my sister her name
      it was my
my mom’s favourite song at the time

      • Re: mariann faithful

Mariann faithful said, “Hey Kari Ann” was the Hollies put down on her for not staying the “sweet hall monitor from school” after she started hanging with Mick Jagger
