i bought three books and a Zine
Jan told me about this thing yesterday
— he heard about it because Kirk Reed
had posted something on Billynet about it being up here in Northern California
— he’s reading in it this year
i’ve always enjoyed his live readings
and think he’s a really amazing… Man ( i would have said “Kidd”– but he talked a lot tonight about not being a “youth”– but being a fully empowered person — which hit home for me because i’ve allowed people to give me the moniker of “youth” as an excuse far too often )
– his performance was amazing…
but Dirty Martini
her thighs were ASTOUNDING! (and what she expressed with her Burlesque!! )
and Amber Dawn‘s story
(i bought her zine… and a book she co-edited of porn stories written by women for women about women — which i need education on )
and Bridget Irish gave an astounding opening number that reminded me of Penople Vortex
balanced off the serious starkness of C. Snatch Z.
i was really impressed and inspired by the talent
Oh, Stephen Elliot
was also entertaining and twisted…
i got his book to give as a birthday gift…
… there are always new levels to consider “pride”
and “Stepping Up”
i’ve got a lot of shit i have to get done.
