it’s always this way:
I arrive after being gone a while
I get on the subway
and fall in love with everyone
want to put my arms around them
dance through the hills singing
take their weary bodies up in joy…
but usually after a week I’m exhausted and cranky
and need another week to fall into my groove
but right now
I’m happy to be home…
and my apartment has a long-lost-friend in it now!
I’m happy to see him too
I’m happy for everything
even with all the confusion
