I saw you at Seattle’s Spring Thaw several years ago–standing out as you do, and yet a part of the whole. You were a true free spirit of I sort I seldom meet. You exuded sex, but not lust. I have followed your wanderings distantly, as one follows a comet across the sky–something there, but somehow etherial. I wish you love.

The first time we met, in the Ramada lobby at IBR. I was sitting on a couch with , and you came up and sat on the coffee table right in front of me, thick brown mane falling around your face in a curly halo. The bright intensity of your eyes caught me, and you smiled, reached out and took my hands. At last, the words I’d read had a face, the ideas I’d wondered at were grounded in flesh. A connection clicked in that moment, and you haven’t left my mind since.
