stare into the haze of the sun
til all bleaches out
and the eye-lids flicker closed
feel the back start to sweat
naked in the side-yard

water dripping down my back
still caught up in the hair
smells a bit like a wet dog

It has been so hot and humid here in Vermont….difficult to sleep at night….difficult to move around during the day. Where’s my cold front??

They live in Massachuestts, but I’m first visiting them at my grandmother’s summer home on Mount Desert Island, which has since been inherited by my cousins.

nah ! the dangerous was already there and then I noticed my shadow looming … “monster” is one of my persona’s my grandkids like me to play
and yes! my shadow IS fat too, but still not smoking, so I’ll smell sweet for cuddling
