  • Afternoon Handsome!

Was curious. What is the East Side Club like? Usually visit a bath house in Queens, but the travel time sometimes get to be a bit too much. ESC is relatively closer. Any info you can share, would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • First Wave (Sirius Radio 22)

Indeed… What a glorious juxtaposition to be walking down those halls while listening to those ecstatic songs, which transported me to the days friends and I were creating the New Wave scene in Puerto Rico, with our outfits that raided our parents’ closets, shaved eyebrows and makeup, and the feeling that every day is a dream…a feeling that lives in me.

When New Order’s “Round and Round” was playing, I skipped down the hallway and was transported. As I was in a room, I heard Haircut 100…and I was comforted by sudden onslaught of my roots…a reminder of a journey of reverie. I remembered thinking that a bath house would be the perfect setting for say, Dead or Alive’s glorious cover of KC and the Sunshine Band’s “That’s The Way (I Like It).”

Yes, these are the glories of the new wave scene. The radio station they were playing was Sirius First Wave (#22).

Music, always there, my beginning and end, and such a key to sharing…like now, with my dear partner.
