i started this playlist mid march. . . i had been curating a playlist for a friend, and as the panic spiral snagged me i noticed i was filling the sweet playlist i had made him with anxiety songs. . . so stopped that and made a dedicated Apocalypse playlist (not surprisingly, i found i had made one already. . . – link in comments)
i filled the playlist quickly . . . and was surprised when i listened to it that it was more comforting than i thought it would be. these are the end of the world songs that come to mind to me. . . as time went on, they became even more hopeful. i haven’t been adding to it much recently. . . maybe you’ll have fun listening to it on shuffle.
i have been making season playlists on spotify for years now. . . a combination of music i want to explore and music that pops into my head
this one is still ongoing. Listen on shuffle.

one of the ways of maintaining your Freedom is maintaining your Health
there are many factors involved
but lets start with one of the physical ones: Lymph
Lymph is a fluid system of the body
it moves through all of your internal tissues
and it doesn’t have a heart to pump it
it moves entirely because the body moves
it has pathways it gathers in
it collects white blood cells that have neutralized pathogens
as well as other toxins that have been gathered in ways other than the blood
and it moves around your body
sorting out ways of expressing itself through your breathing or waste excretions
in this wonderful world we live in now a days
most of us don’t NEED to move
not very much
we can get out of bed, sit at the table, get in the car, sit in a chair all day, sit in the car, sit on a couch, go to bed.
all these toxic substances just stagnate
instead of being excreted
and not only does this give infections time to grow
it gives toxic chemicals time to do more damage
so
while we are well
it is important that we keep moving
even when we are sick
it is important that we keep moving
the more fully the body moves
the more fully the lymph is moved
the more fully the tissues are cleaned
the healthier the body can be
simple: if you like dancing
make sure you put on a song every day
and keep yourself dancing to it
better
do that a few times a day
if you’re not that into dancing
or want something more focused
i recommend starting with this:
Simple Daily Movements
i’ve got a lot of feedback from friends and friends-of-friends telling me that they do this regularly and love how it makes them feel
it’s a set of simple movements i cobbled together from something someone taught me
he came from a body-centered psychology modality
and he used four movements to get people into their body if they were too stuck in their heads
(yes, many people’s bodies are just life support systems for their heads. . .)
i’ve been practicing yoga since i was 18
and formally practicing qigong for the last 7 years
so i adapted these movements he showed me
adding aspects i enjoyed from qigong
and made this 8 minute video
teaching how to do these movements
a simple little practice you can do in your own home with little space
nothing too complicated
although
the first time i made an instsruction video for these was last summer
and by the time i made one with clothes on
i had been practicing these every day
and they had grown and changed
this video was made in December of 2019
since then
i have modified a few of the movements even further
working more with the spiral concept
which is a great way to move the lymph through the body
but also helps unbind fascia
if you’ve already seen this video
this is what i’ve added in the last few months:
the movement where the body is vertical
and the arms are going up and down, twisting the wrists and fingers to wring out the arms as the neck and spine are getting wrung out
i am now also twisting the pointed foot
rotating the heel out as i turn
paying more attention to rotating more fully on the grounded leg
keeping those toes pointing forward
feeling the spiral in the fascia all the way up to the hip
the sand helped me do this
but any smooth surface will also work with not too much pressure on the pointed toes
also
the arm chan suu chin spirals i’ve now made more 3D
where as i used to just wring the arm out horizontally from he mid line latterally out
now i feel i can make circles with the hands on a horizontal plane
and/or more spherical.
i still do the lateral movements, swaying the hips, dancing from pointed toes on one side to the other
in the horizontal position, i keep the feet grounded and do a full spine rotation, the hand movements: i aim the hand towards the arm pit and send it directly back behind me before wringing it out. the momentum feels great.
in the spherical movements, i just play and get the whole body into it
perhaps i wil make another video.
or facebook live. . .
would you like more videos or more written description?
or both?
also
if you want a more full body version of spiral moving lymph pumping
another practice i do every day
is Chan Suu Chin (silk reeling) taught from Master Jo by David Chandler
i haven’t made an instruction video for it yet
but i have a demonstration of me doing it when i was first learning it
the set you can see me doing here
was from when i was doing this about seven times a day
so really got it in my system
as my practice has progressed
instead of doing it like this
i do each of the movements, alternating from one side to the other, about 9 times each
sometime more, sometimes less
sometimes i’m tired, sometimes i just lose count
there are many factors in play
in this video you see me doing it once
in the description there is a link to buy the teaching video from David Chandler
he’s beautiful and a great teacher
still i would be happy to make an instruction video and written description if you would like
just let me know
also
there is this video
which is more familiar exercises. i made this for a guy to show him how i work out: he was complaining he couldn’t go to his gym and didn’t know how to work out at home.
something short and simple you can do on the floor of your apartment.
may you be healthy
may you be free
