tuesday may 30th. 2:07
dude.
i think smiles look freaky.
i don’t like seeing pictures with people smiling all the time
in that weird fake-monkey-way
are they scared?
ingratiating?
ready for war?
Happy!
i smile
when it comes to me
… not for show.
feeling whole for a moment
even with yacov
i can be whole.
all the colours come out
i can feel my whole body
i know everything
clear
presant
eternal.
whenever i feel this
i want to feel this way always.
(midnight of tuesday, the 30th of may)
i fucked the moon the other night
i fucked her milky milky light
when i was done i fancied more
so i fucked a hundred filthy whores.
i ran into the street and screamed
“you wanna get good and fucking reamed!?”
“of course!” yelled back the baying throng
so i fucked them, each and every one.

we were friends once.
that’s what we are now:
were friends once.
i keep listening to “Videotape”
who is Mephistopholies?
it was pounding in my head phones today
as i walked up from the underground
sun out for a moment
thom said
“this is my way of saying
good bye
.
.
.
coz i can’t do it
face to face”
on video tape.
on video tape…
and i started to cry
just the start
you know the part
where your heart opens up
cracks
things pour out
seep out
the rush of the flood
almost.
almost
the rush of the flood
we boys have strong dams
we can keep it in
choking it back.
i sat
waiting for yacov
pulling the empty bottles out of the flower bed
throwing them away
the plastic bags
the beer cans
throwing them away
getting my hands
dirty
die.
you know
i’ve been masturbating.
i’ve been having sex
i’ve been seeing the world.
those kids have been making clothes.
those kids have been making bootlegs.
those kids have been making pictures.
i’m ebbing away
and i’ve always wanted to die.
it seems so sad!
but hey
i’ve always been sad.
i’m a sad guy
the sad is so deep and so big
i’m smiling around it all the time
i’m laughing
i’m dancing
it’s fun
there is so much joy and life everywhere
i just don’t know what to do with it all
i just want to die
i don’t want to die
i don’t really want anything
i don’t really get it
i don’t know what i am supposed to be doing
who is Mephistopholies?
am i going to disappear?
is that possible?
yacov really wants to keep me alive.
there are other people who might want to keep me alive
they all make me angry
i guess i run and hide from them
often they don’t really help
they just have good intentions
maybe i just need to
let go.
“When Mephistopholis
is just beneath
And he’s reaching up
to grab me”
Coming into the Acropolis from the back side:
the Temple of Hephaistos from above
From inside the museum…
here’s the skeleton of Athena’s great temple…
but, like most everything else in “greece”
is has been stripped by the rest of the European nations for their museums.
Hadrian, apparently.
the details show Remus and Romulous: the twins who were suckled and raised by wolves
and the Green Man!
Ah, were i Hadrian’s…
just so you know what you’re looking at below, i copied this off the sign for to share with you:
Temple of Hephaistos (ca. 460-415 B.C.)
A doric peripteral temple, with pronaos (fore-temple), inner shrine (cella) and opisthonaos (rear temple), the best preserved of its type in the Greek world. . It occupies the crest of the Kolonos Agoraios Hill and was designed by an unknown architect in honor of Hephaistos, patron of metal-working and Athena Ergane, patroness of pottery and of crafts in general. …..
The two bronze cult statues of the cella are believed to be the work of Alkamenes (prob. 421-415 B.C.). In the 3rd centure B.C. a garden with small trees and shrubs was planted around the temple, which was converted into the church of St. George Akamas in the 7th century. In the early 19th century, the chuch was used as a burial place for Protestants and for many European Philhellenes who died in the Greek War of Independence in 1821. The building remained in use through 1834, when it was the site of the official welcome of King Otto. From then until the 1930’s it was used as a museum.
and notice the nice gay men from Atlanta (or texas, or somewhere down south) posing in front of it?
the rest of these were along the top
My Favourite: the Centaurs
mmmm, wrestling.
These other Heads were from around the Acient Angora
and this little guy?
i love him.
i found this Cd while walking through the market and couldn’t bring myself to buy it
but frantically searched for it later on the internet
enjoy his beauty and silliness
i had forgot to turn my cameara on…
though i had been carrying it a few hours before i took any pictures
but these nice men reminded me to get it out and capture some beauty…
and then i came around the corner and found the Acropolis
(this girl was just as shocked as i was )
i stood here a moment
knowing Jeff had been here the day before…
So i took him with me the rest of the day.
i decided not to try to get the the acropolis today
it was near closing time by this point anyway
so i just wandered around looking at things.
but i went up and up and up…
then i came to a fence…
turning around… i got to see Athens
which goes on in every direction
forever.
heading back down
there were small, odd shaped steps going between the houses
all outlined in paint…
going in every direction
i was a bit obsessed with these red poppies
i remember first seeing them in england when i was 18
something about the blood of each fallen soldier in the world war….
something like that
so today i was looking for that mythology:
how are all of these souls doing?
back at the hot springs…
the light a different colour
the green not so deep…
but look at this place!
the lake used to come all the way up to these rooms
this parking lot was all filled in to make it easier for visitors!
people used to have a take a boat here…
yet these rooms are still used by elderly people who’d rather not climb down into the pool…
but they’re only open for the summer months…
… it’s a small town…
yet still chaotic and cluttered
i wanted to capture the lettering…
and more of this crazy church…
and a few pictures from the window of the bus on the way to Athens…
